BLURRY
40X30CM
DKK 2 750.-
Painting "Blurry" reflect the philosophical themes of uncertainty in identity, the haziness of life's path, and the unclear nature of our future. "Blurry" emphasizes the idea that as we move through life, much of what we experience—our sense of self, our direction, and our thoughts—can feel undefined, yet we continue to move forward. It captures the feeling of being in a transition where nothing is fully in focus, but possibilities still surround us. This artwork, is about universal experience of navigating through life's uncertainties.
LONELY TREE
40X40CM
DKK 2 750.-
"Lonely Tree" symbolizing the blending of human identity with nature. The man's obscured face and body suggest a desire for escape or refuge from society, highlighting themes of solitude and anonymity. While the tree represents life and rootedness, the figure's stillness emphasizes the isolation that often accompanies our search for meaning.
This painting explores the tension between connection and dissolution. It questions whether in solitude we find our true selves or risk losing them, reflecting the human struggle for belonging in a vast, indifferent world.
LET GO
40X40CM
DKK 2 750.-
In painting "Let Go" by Solodka ,the woman holding an empty cage takes on profound meaning. The cage, a symbol of captivity, suggests that something has already been released-perhaps the bird flying away in the background. This imagery reflects the bittersweet nature of letting go, where freedom comes at the cost of loss. The woman's posture conveys contemplation, as she holds onto the empty cage, symbolizing how we often remain attached to the memory of what we've released, even after we've let go. Philosophically, the painting explores the tension between freedom and attachment, showing that while we may free ourselves from certain constraints, the emotional and psychological weight of what we've released lingers. It invites us to reflect on the complex process of letting go and the emptiness that sometimes follows, leaving us to question what remains after the act of release.
ACHO OF WAR
150X100CM
DKK 25 000 .-
This painting by Solodka stands as a poignant reflection of
a generation forced to endure the ravages of a war unleashed by Russia upon
Ukraine and the world. The destruction feels unbearable, echoing through the
souls of those who have lost loved ones, and in the eyes of children who long
for the embrace of their missing parents and the lives that have been
shattered.
The hand, gently resting, symbolizes both loss and the absence of support, a haunting reminder of the human vulnerability in the face of such chaos. Yet, in the child's figure, there lies a profound hope. This child embodies a new generation, one that holds the potential to rise above the scars of war and strive for a future where life on this planet may be lived with greater compassion, wisdom, and unity. The child's presence speaks to the resilience of the human spirit, the hope that even amidst destruction, there is a possibility for renewal, for healing, and for a better world to emerge.
This painting urges us to remember that in the hands of the next generation rests the power to shape a future where peace, not war, defines humanity's journey.
BEE GIRL
100X70CM
DKK 600.- (POSTER)
This painting from Solodka's BubbleGirl series (2017),reflects the tension between personal identity and societal expectations. The figure's natural afro contrasts with the bold, artificial background, symbolizing the struggle to maintain authenticity in a world that often demands conformity.
Her cow-patterned top and the orb she holds suggest a connection between nature and the constructed self, with the orb representing the fragile, intricate world of personal dreams and inner realities. Philosophically, the painting explores the balance between external appearances and inner truth, capturing the complex negotiation between the self and society.
BUBBLE GIRL
1OOX70CM
DKK 600.- (POSTER)
"BubbleGirl" by Solodka, painted in 2017, captures the delicate beauty of childhood innocence and dreams. The girl, enclosed in a fragile bubble, represents the inner self, protected yet free to imagine.
Inside the bubble, two figures swing joyfully in the sky, symbolizing the weightlessness of dreams and the boundless possibilities of youthful imagination.
The hidden pug under her skirt adds a grounding element, reminding us of the comforts of reality we carry with us even in our dreams. Philosophically, the painting explores the balance between sheltering our inner world and embracing the vulnerability that comes with it, celebrating the purity of imagination and the fragile nature of our dreams.
THROUGH THE GLASS
50X60 CM
DKK 3 700.-
Fragility of life and the tension between perception and reality. The girl, holding the delicate bird, represents humanity's relationship with nature and innocence-one that can easily shift from protection to harm. Her rigid posture and black gloves suggest control, but the bird's vulnerability reveals the delicate balance of life. The pink glasses, however, introduce a layer of complexity of symbols an attempt to filter or soften the harshness of reality, suggesting that the figure is viewing her world through a protective lens. This represent our human tendency to emotionally distance ourselves from the suffering we encounter, choosing to see things through an idealized or altered perspective, even as we hold something fragile in our hands. Together, these elements create a powerful philosophical reflection on how we navigate the world: balancing control with compassion, reality with perception, and the urge to protect what is vulnerable while grappling with the very real possibility of harm. The painting invites us to question not only our relationship ,but also how we choose to engage emotionally with the suffering and beauty that exist within it.
SLEEPING WHALES
100X100CM
DKK 7 000.-
This painting by Solodka evokes a profound sense of existential reflection. The vastness of the deep blue space represents the unknown-an abyss of mystery, symbolizing the depths of human experience, emotion, and the universe itself. The small, solitary figures appear as though they are suspended or lost in this expansive void, creating a powerful metaphor for the human condition. The figures of sleeping whales adds depth to this painting. The vast blue around them represents not just the ocean, but the subconscious mind or cosmos—silent and infinite. The whales, symbols of wisdom and the mysteries of the deep, embody calm acceptance and peaceful surrender to life's rhythms. Their serene presence in the vast unknown invites us to reflect on the importance of stillness, reminding us that, like them, we are part of something much larger.
PEACE OFF
100X80CM (IN BLACK WOOD FRAME)
In Solodka's work, captures the
political realities of the war in Ukraine, focusing on the desperate struggle
for freedom and the high stakes of the full scale war. The central figure, dressed in
a blend of armor and cultural attire, symbolizes the resilience and sorrow of
the Ukrainian people, who are all forced to confront the brutal invasion of russia. The
balloon she holds, emblazoned with "BOOM," serves as a stark metaphor for the
constant threat of violence, turning an innocent object into a symbol of the
volatile and explosive reality faced by civilians. A white dove on her
shoulder, symbolizing peace, appears fragile and out of place, reflecting the
elusive nature of peace amidst ongoing chaos. On the table before her, a slice
of cake and a glass of red wine represent something much larger to highlight the devastating cost of the war. The nearby pomegranate
underscores the deadly consequences of these divisions. The background's
graffiti, with messages like "FOR FREEDOM," "STOP pUTIN," and "FUCK WAR,"
conveys a powerful cry of resistance and demand for freedom. The crumbling
wall, marked by these slogans, symbolizes the physical and psychological toll
of the war. Through this painting, Solodka offers a profound political
statement, embodying Ukraine's struggle, resilience, and unwavering pursuit of
freedom in the face of tyranny.
QUIET LOVE
70X90CM (IN BLACK WOOD FRAME)
DKK 14 500.-
"Quiet Love" by Solodka presents a deeply evocative tableau, inviting to contemplate the intricate interplay between love, silence, and the self. The painting of a woman whose muted expression and restrained posture speak to the profound tension between inner emotion and outward expression.
The stitched word "LOVE" is a symbol of unspoken truths and the binding forces that often accompany deep affection. This act of suturing, rendered in a vivid red thread, suggests a sacrifice of voice, perhaps even of identity, in the name of love—a love that is simultaneously tender and tormenting.
The small globe she holds, suspended by a fragile thread, hovers pr above a half-melted candle. This scene symbolize the weight of the world resting on a love that is both illuminating and ephemeral, casting a transient glow in the darkness. The candle, symbol of hope and spirit, burns low, hinting at the passage of time and the inevitable decay that accompanies all earthly things, love included. The woman's hands, poised in a gesture that is neither fully grasping nor fully releasing, suggest a love held in delicate balance—a love that is quiet not by choice, but by necessity. In this composition, Solodka explores the philosophical underpinnings of love's quietude: the silence that speaks louder than words, the pain that gives love its depth, and the gentle, yet powerful, forces that shape our emotional existence.
"Quiet Love" becomes a meditation on the contradictions within love—its ability to elevate and ensnare, to illuminate and shadow, to be both a source of light and a harbinger of darkness.
COCOON
150X100CM
In "Cocoon," Solodka captures the introspective and transformative journey of self-growth, using powerful symbolism to explore the tension between the safety of confinement and the desire for emergence. The central figure, enveloped in a cocoon-like garment and bearing a nest filled with potential, represents the delicate process of nurturing new life or ideas within oneself. The figure's face, calm and contemplative, emerges from this cocoon-like garment, suggesting that she is in the midst of a transformative process. Her expression is one of quiet introspection, as though she is aware of the changes occurring within her but is not yet ready—or is perhaps hesitant—to break free. This evokes the notion of metamorphosis, where a caterpillar must first encase itself within a cocoon before emerging as a butterfly, symbolizing personal growth, change, and the journey toward self-realization. The nest is a powerful symbol of potential, new beginnings, and the nurturing of life. It represents the core of the transformation process—the potential for new life, ideas, or phases of existence that are being carefully protected and nurtured within the cocoon.Set against a backdrop of bare trees and overseen by birds symbolizing freedom, the painting poignantly reflects on the stages of personal metamorphosis, where one must embrace the quiet, protective phases before finally breaking free into a new and realized self.
ILLUSION OF FREEDOM
120X90CM
Painting inspired by Jonathan Yeo, whose portrait of King Charles reflects the complexities of identity and power in a contemporary context, Solodka delves into the notion that freedom is often more illusionary than real. In the painting, Solodka presents a figure who appears to be in control, symbolizing the ideal of freedom. However, the true message unfolds in the details: fish are tethered to her fingers, representing individuals who, despite their perception of autonomy, are still held by invisible strings of societal expectations, obligations, or unseen forces. The fish in the bowl, seemingly free from these strings, is confined within its glass walls—emphasizing that even when we think we have escaped one form of constraint, we often find ourselves trapped in another. The fish symbolize the duality of our existence: while we may swim through life with a sense of freedom, our movements are often dictated by the boundaries imposed on us, whether by society, circumstances, or even our own choices.
"Illusion of Freedom" challenges the viewer to reconsider what it means to be truly free. Through the delicate yet poignant imagery of tethered fish and a confining bowl, Solodka reveals that freedom is often a carefully crafted illusion—one that we may never fully escape, despite our best efforts to break free. The painting serves as a cool, contemporary reflection on the constraints that subtly shape our lives, urging us to question the reality of the freedom we so often take for granted.
SAFE HAVEN
70X90CM (IN BLACK WOOD FRAME)
The painting "Safe Haven" by Solodka encapsulates the profound idea that our true sanctuary lies within the realms of knowledge, self-reflection, and inner wisdom. Through its rich symbolism—the open book as a crown, the seagull of freedom, the ocean of the subconscious, the guiding lighthouse, and the letters etched on the woman's face—the artwork illustrates the journey of self-discovery and the transformative power of learning. The painting suggests that in a world of uncertainty and external chaos, the mind serves as a refuge, where knowledge and introspection provide clarity and peace. The letters on the woman's face remind us that the knowledge we absorb becomes a part of our identity, shaping our perceptions and interactions with the world. Ultimately, "Safe Haven" conveys that the true essence of safety and freedom is found within ourselves, in the wisdom we cultivate and the stories we carry, making it a powerful meditation on the enduring strength of the human spirit.
UDERCOVER
150X100CM (IN BLACK WOOD FRAME)
DKK 22 000.-
The painting "Undercover" by Solodka is a profound exploration of identity, power, and the subtle dynamics of self-presentation in the modern world. The figure, cloaked in an oversized coat and partially obscured by large yellow-tinted glasses and a beret, embodies the tension between concealment and revelation. Her guarded posture and the urban backdrop suggest an existence marked by caution and anonymity, yet the queen she holds in her right hand unveils a hidden depth of strength and strategic acumen. The queen, a symbol of power and versatility, transforms the figure from a passive participant into a key player in the game of life. This juxtaposition of outward concealment with inner strength challenges traditional notions of power, suggesting that true influence often lies beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment to be revealed. The chessboard-patterned box further reinforces this theme, symbolizing the calculated moves and strategies we employ as we navigate the complexities of existence. In "Undercover," Solodka portrays the duality of human identity—the balance between vulnerability and strength, visibility and invisibility. The painting becomes an allegory for the hidden potential within each of us, urging viewers to reflect on the masks we wear, the power we hold, and the strategic decisions that shape our lives.
TEENAGER
150X100CM
The painting "Teenager" by Solodka encapsulates the paradoxes of the teenage experience. It portrays a young person caught between the remnants of childhood and the impending responsibilities of adulthood, symbolized by the mix of playful and mature elements. The teenager's contemplative expression and the juxtaposition of symbols suggest a period of internal conflict and self-discovery, where one navigates the harsh realities of life (cactus) while holding onto the hopes and dreams (unicorn) that define youth. In "Teenager," Solodka masterfully captures the essence of adolescence—a time of growth, exploration, and the search for identity.
The mask may represent the societal expectations or personas that teenagers adopt to fit in, or it might symbolize the concealment of true feelings and thoughts during a time of intense self-exploration.
On her back is a stuffed unicorn, a mythical creature that traditionally symbolizes purity and the fantastical aspects of childhood.
To her side, a large cactus dominates the left portion of the painting. The cactus, a plant that thrives in harsh conditions and is protected by sharp spines, is a metaphor for the resilience and toughness that teenagers develop as they navigate the often prickly terrain of adolescence. The cactus may also represent the barriers that teenagers erect around themselves, a defense mechanism against the emotional vulnerabilities that come with this stage of life.
Scattered among the cactus are small monkeys, which could symbolize the playful, mischievous nature of youth, as well as the influence of peers—another significant aspect of the teenage experience. The monkeys, climbing and interacting with the cactus, suggest a carefree and curious spirit, yet one that must navigate the challenges and dangers symbolized by the cactus's spines.
At the bottom right of the painting, a small yellow rubber duck floats in a pool of water. It symbolize the lingering simplicity and joy of childhood, and the memories of a simpler time that continue to float in the subconscious during the tumultuous teenage years. The presence of multicolored balls near represent the multitude of emotions, experiences, and possibilities that define adolescence.
MODSTAND
150X100CM (IN BLACK WOOD FRAME)
The concept here involves a calm yet intense character with elements of surrealism. The arrows piercing through and the birds on the arrow create symbplic scene.
Composition: simple background draw attention to the subject. Doft color palette with few bold accents ( yellow birds ).
This painting explores themes of vulnerability, suffering,
and resilience. It invites reflection on how individuals navigate the
challenges and pains of life while still finding moments of beauty or meaning,
as symbolized by the golden birds. It serves as a visual metaphor for the human
condition, blending existential pain with the possibility of transcendence or
acceptance.
This artwork can also be read through the lens of Stoicism. The woman embodies the stoic ideal of enduring suffering with grace and composure. The arrows represent life's inevitable challenges, which one must face with resilience. The birds could symbolize the Stoic belief in maintaining inner freedom and peace, regardless of external circumstances. Hair can symbolize strength or identity, and the way the woman holds her hair with tension might indicate her control over her situation, despite the suffering. Alternatively, the stretched hair could represent the delicate balance she maintains under pressure, hinting at the fragility of human endurance.
MOTHER
150X100CM (IN BLACK WOOD FRAME)
In the painting "Mother" by Solodka, the central figure is a serene and powerful woman who holds a baby in her arms, which adds significant depth and symbolism to the artwork. The woman, with her flowing clothes and natural crown, represents feminine and the deep connection between humanity and nature. The baby she cradles symbolizes new life, innocence, and the future, protection, and the continuity of life. The child transforms the painting into a profound statement on motherhood and the role of women as caregivers and protectors, also as a representation of the next generation, highlighting the responsibility to safeguard not only human life but also the environment that sustains it.
The surrounding lush greenery and the woman's natural crown reinforce the idea that she is an embodiment of the earth itself, nurturing and sustaining all life. The painting suggests that just as a mother cares for her child, humanity must care for the planet and its ecosystems to ensure the survival of future generations. Overall, the painting symbolizes the interconnectedness of life, the sacredness of creation, and the ethical responsibility to protect and sustain both human life and the environment. Through the image of the mother and child, Solodka conveys a powerful message about the importance of living in harmony with nature and the enduring cycle of life.
SOULMATES
80X100 CM
The painting "Soulmates" by Solodka invites a profound exploration of the interconnectedness of human existence. The figures, almost mirror images of one another, evoke the philosophical idea that every soul has a counterpart, a reflection that completes it in ways both seen and unseen. Two flowers upward between the two figures, its tendrils connecting them at the heart. This organic link speaks to the idea of a shared life force, a connection that transcends the physical realm and enters the spiritual. It symbolizes the intertwined fates of the two souls, suggesting that they are bound by a force greater than themselves—a force that could be interpreted as destiny, love, or the very essence of life itself. The soft, delicate petals drifting around symbols of impermanence, echoing the transient nature of life and the fleeting moments that define our connections with others. Yet, within this transience, there is beauty and meaning, as each petal contributes to the overall harmony of the piece, just as each moment contributes to the tapestry of human experience. The expressions on the faces of the two women are serene, yet laden with introspection, as if they are engaged in a silent dialogue with each other—or perhaps with their own inner selves. This duality in their gaze suggests the philosophical notion that within every relationship, there exists a dialogue between self and other, between the known and the unknown, between the material and the spiritual.
"Soulmates" thus becomes a visual connection, identity, and the eternal search for completeness. It poses the question: Are we ever truly separate from those we are connected to, or are we merely different manifestations of the same essence? Through this lens, the painting transcends its immediate visual appeal, offering instead a profound commentary on the intertwined nature of existence and the perpetual journey toward understanding our place within it.
BAD LEMON or TOO LATE FOR LEMONADE (SOLD)
An idea emerged, a vivid departure from my typical art, evoking deep emotions. Motivated by a lemon i bought for myself. Unfortunately lemon was rotted, revealing a mesmerizing palette of colors: yellow, white, bluish, and traces of green. It was a actually beautiful, yet regrettably, it was too late to enhance my cup of tea. Remembering the saying, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade," I reflected. Wise words, but not suitable for a bad lemon. This led me to reflect on the state of the world. How many opportunities decay as we postpone decisions? The time for action is now, to effect change before opportunity is lost. Hence, I painted this lemon as a symbol of urgency and remainder.
CHAOS (SOLD)
I began to paint this painting at the end of 2021 and completed it in 2022. "Chaos" depicts the theatricality of our daily lives across centuries. It reflects the systems of life and politics that have been constructed over many years. As human beings, we strive to navigate the self-inflicted chaos, doing our utmost to maintain balance. However, with the overwhelming influx of information, this has become a formidable task. Manipulation has evolved into a tool of power, influencing our minds, bodies, and souls.
In 2022, like many others, I realized that peace had ended. The dove turning its back on us became the final element I added to
this artwork.ÆG I TÅGEN (SOLD)
An unclear mind, following the wrong path or a person with significant power, can lead to chaos. Individuals without a strong point of view are easily manipulated, contributing to a mad world.
Alternatively, it could be about a great person with a groundbreaking idea on the verge of being realized, with everyone supporting it. They are there for him, unequivocally having his back.
Remember, you are the one who chooses your story, not anyone else.
UNITY (SOLD)
Since 2022, the Ukrainian people have been united as never before. In a single moment, everyone came together as one against the enemy, and the entire world witnessed it, something the adversaries did not expect.
Birds are symbols of nationhood, pride, and leadership. As the moment arrives, it's time to write a new chapter in the history of Ukraine and the world (as she braiding her hair, she braiding history)
Flowers have become a symbol for the numerous Ukrainians who have found new homes around the world due to war, remaining united despite the distance. White flowers are emblematic of children.
The drone has become a symbol of modern warfare; it represents the technological advancements and the new face of combat.
A time where traditions and modernity go hand in hand.
REBORN(SOLD)
The "Reborn" by Solodka is rich with symbolism and invites a philosophical reflection on themes of transformation, renewal, and the convergence of innocence and maturity. In this painting, Solodka captures the philosophical journey of the soul's evolution—an exploration of how one transcends the ordinary through inner transformation. The unicorn, a creature of fantasy, stands as a symbol of the idealized self, the potential for purity and magic within every individual. The flowers and water further underscore the cyclical nature of life, where after every trial, there is an opportunity for rebirth and for beauty to emerge anew. Thus, "Reborn" becomes not just a visual artwork, but a meditation on the cycles of life, the resilience of the human spirit, and the continuous process of becoming—reminding the viewer that renewal is an integral part of existence, one that is deeply rooted in both the mystical and the mundane aspects of life.
